A short drive from Heathrow, (located junction 2 of the M40) is Bekonscot Model Village, the worlds oldest model village.
There are six little villages in a 1½ acre miniature landscape of farms and fields, castles and churches, woods, lakes and rolling hills.
The model village depicts rural England in the 1930’s.
The creation was a hoby of one man in 1929, Roland Callingham.
There is an excellent gauge I model railway and many moving models, as well as minature sit-on railway operating at weekends and school holidays.
